In a context where congregations did not use to be allowed to hold their services in any language but Amharic, the congregation today is one of some 60 Oromo speaking Mekane Yesus congregations in Addis Ababa. The service takes place on the first Sunday following political turmoil in the country, claiming dozens of lives.
