Add to Cart Add to Lightbox Download27 January 2019, Burka Dare IDP site, near Micha, Seweyna woreda, Bale Zone, Oromia, Ethiopia: At the river nearby the Burka Dare site for Internally Displaced People (IDP), which this time of year runs seemingly dry, the community of Oromo people has dug a cattle trough, to preserve low-percolating water from deep inside the riverbed, salvaging some drinking water for livestock and people alike. The Lutheran World Federation supports internally displaced people in several regions of Ethiopia, through emergency response on water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) as well as long-term development and empowerment projects, to help build resilience and adapt communities’ lifestyles to a changing climate.
